Sheldon and Geni's African Safari 2026
Today is: July 16
We woke up in: Cape Town We went to sleep in: Cape Town

Got up and were met by our tour guide. Visited Table Mountain which required a car ride, an elevator and then a cable car to get up to the top of the mountain. Had some great views as you will see in the photos below. Then went on a tour of District 6, and area that they removed all the residents due to race and then bulldozed the area. Then some shopping and trying to get my phone to work with an esim.

Met our tour guide, Sharif, a Capetown resident. Took us to Table Mountain, a UNESCO historical site. The views were spectacular. The clouds may have blocked some of the view, but it looked like cotton balls below us. As well as District 6, he took us around the city to the Muslim area called BoKaap, the House of Parliament, the Angelican Cathedral which had a statue of Desmond Tutu. We went to the V&A waterfront (Victoria and Albert) with indoor and outdoor malls, stores, restaurants and a marina. The weather was supposed to be questionable, but it actually turned out to be a sunny day.
