| Leaving on a jet plane, today is a travel day. Picked up at 8 AM and headed to the airport. Seemed like it was back in the good old daya - bussed from the terminal to the plane, climbed up a set of stairs to the plane. No video on the plane. Then it was an almost 2 hour ride to the game preserve. We did make it in time for lunch and the afternoon game drive. Staying at a very nice place, each room is its own building. Went on our first safari, seated in an open jeep with nice people: German couple and their two teenage daughters and Australian woman and her teenage son. We saw zebras, monkeys, lions, hippos, elephants, impalas and other animals, nameless until we become more familiar. The guide and tracker (who holds gun) were a sight to watch as they look at tracks, confer with other drivers and get us through the maze of paths. This included a second safari at 3:30 and back when it is dark out. We have a late dinner at 8 and then time to sleep. Wake up call at 5:30 AM for tomorrow. The food is very gourmet and tasty. |
