| Today is: | July 7 | ||
| We woke up in: | Denali National Park | We're going to sleep in: | Denali National Park |
Shel: Had to get up early to meet the tour bus. 8 hour Tundra Wildlife Tour - great tour driver! Great weather! Saw several moose, caribou, hares, bear and saw Denali from top to base. Only about 20% of the people that come to Denali see the mountain from base to top, we got an excellent view!. Some of the animals were shedding their winter coats. After returning from that tour we went over to see the sled dog kennel demonstration. Then dinner, ice cream and home. Geni: Got out of camper by 5:45 to get to tour bus. We had a remarkable day. Were lucky enough to see Denali Mountain clearly with no smog, smoke or clouds. They say it is pretty rare for that to happen. We saw lots of animals, mostly from a distance, but that also is unusual, so that was great. I am so amazed after talking to many young tour guides and rangers who have chosen this life style. They seem to just love the work they are doing. |
