Sheldon and Geni's 2018 Trip to Alaska

We woke up in: Valdez, AK We're going to sleep in: Valdez, AK

Shel: Today we kind of wandered around Valdez. We went to town early, watch some people cleaning their catch. Then we went out to the fish hatchery and Roland tried fishing for salmon. They came in late this year and he didn't have any luck.

Geni: Was watching some guys who were filleting the fish they caught and asking a question or two. One of the guys offered to give me some salmon. I was very happy. I am looking forward to eating fresh salmon caught right from the ocean (however we ate out tonight!!). Went to the fish hatchery and saw thousands of salmon making their way to spawning grounds at the hatchery. Someone had seen a bear in the area earlier, but we never got to see it. Bears, seals, sea lions, otters and the birds hang out there to catch their meals.
