Shel: Well, we left Alaska for the last time this morning. We started heading down toward Vancouver. Geni: Wanted to try fish preserve this morning to justify the long ride we took just to see bears eating fish. Last night people said they were there morning and evening for days until they finally saw a bear. None of us were willing to do that. . . and we never saw a bear for the hour we waited! Rangers say it's hotter than it's been in years and the bears probably would only show up in the evening, but both fish and bears have been scarce lately. Didn't mind leaving Hyder, which is a depressed and depressing town, and, Stewart was a level or two above it. But time to leave Alaska and back into civilization again. |

This is small stream with fish. The bears were supposed to come out of the woods. We saw pictures that showed they actually did that |
