Shel: Another travel day, well over 400 miles. Managed to gas up before I was worried about not running out.. One tank full was about 6.1 MPG, we had a strong head wind and it was all up hill. After checking Google maps, it looked like there was only one private campground outside the East Gate so we went to the West gate, must have been an extra 90 miles and all down hill. The continuation of this trip called for us to go back past the East Gate and continue into Canada. Well, it is all up hill so instead of climbing it, we will try to go around. Geni: Today was a long day driving and when we saw the mountains of Glacier National Park we were really happy. However, it took over an hour and a half, -- passing by so many other campgrounds and roads that would never end -- to get here. Now we look forward to tomorrow to find out what exactly we will be able to see. Part of the park roads are still closed due to snow and also it may rain. But, it will be fun to begin exploring. |

It is hard to imaging seeing sky for as far as you can see. Blue sky is next to grey, cloudy sky and you can see it all -- no trees or buildings to mar the view. |
We saw lightening and rain ahead |
Approaching (or so we thought) Glacier National Park |
