| We woke up in: | Oden, UT | We're going to sleep in: | Oden, UT |
| We took a tour of Salt Lake City, It included stops at "This is the Place" and the State of Utah Capital building. "This is the Place" is where the settlers gave up moving forward and decided this is where they are going to stay. The Capital was very beautiful inside. After our tour Dan and Michele met us in the city for a mexican dinner at the Red Iguana. Geni: Bus tour of Salt Lake City. Thought we would see Mormon Temple but they are renovating many of the downtown buildings to make them earthquake ready. They believe they are overdue for an earthquake and trying to firm up all the important buildings. But we were taken to many of the sights where the 2002 Olympics were held. Salt Lake is the only venue where they made money as the buildings built and used were able to be repurpased by the city. They are hoping to be chosen for the 2030 Olympics. Lots of history about the Mormons and got to see where Brigham Young said this is the place to his followers and settled down. |
