Today we visit Capital Reef National Park. We bought an audio tour and once we got it working, it was really helpful, although there are parts we could have done without. Drove all the was through to the end of the scenic drive and then hiked out on the gorge trail. Geni: You just enter the park and immediately are struck by the magnificent views. The rock formations, the colors and the textures are all so different. It was amazing. Later that evening, we decided to take a trail up to a natural stone arch. We kept walking higher and higher and were not reaching it. Then we saw a young couple, with an infant in a carrier, walking down. We asked if it was much farther and they said, they didn't get to the arch because the sun was going down and then said something about rattlesnakes coming out. That's all I needed to hear, so we turned around and scrubbed that idea. |
