Shel: We got up and got a WEGO (bus) pass for $7 each - allowed us to ride the busses all day. Took a bus down to the Horseshoe Falls and walked from there to the Rainbow Bridge. We got back on the bus and toured the White Water Rapids, The Botanical Garden, The Floral Clock, The Power generating plant and the headed back to the campground. Had to get our passports - heard there was a good tour of Goats Island in New York. Walked back to NY, Toured the island, walked back to Canada, Ate dinner and headed back to the campground. Whew!

Geni: We met a Brit at the bus stop of the WEGO and he told us to go to Goat's Island. It seemed like a good place to go but unfortunately it was on the US side and everyone we asked in Canada was not familiar with it. We walked to the Rainbow Bridge to cross over to USA but we didn't bring our passports, so instead we went to all the places mentioned above. At the Power Plant we went on a tour and one point I remember is that they lower the volume of the water going over the falls (both US and Canada) every night when its late so that they can divert the water to reservoirs which will be used during the day to provide additional electiricy. So if you are wandering around the falls in the early hours of the morning, you could see the difference.

Later in the afternoon we did go across border and finally found Goat's Island and got to see the falls from the American side. The area we walked around was great for being up close to the falls and rapids, but the best views are on the Canadian side.
