Left Lone Rock rather early, got on the road and headed toward Falling Waters in PA. Going through Chicago was a real bitch with traffic. Did 558 miles today :). Today we were in Wisconsin, Illinois, Indiana and Ohio! Stopped in a reat area on route 80. The last rest area had spots for RV's up to 40' long with Electric for just $20, too bad we are almost 50' long. Geni: We drove all day -- Not any exciting pictures as all we got were state welcoming signs. There is still lots and lots of farmland with lots and lots of corn growing, but we definitely can no longer see the horizon. We are back in civilization. But, Shel put up some panoramic pictures that are on the website on the left top side of the webpage. At least we can look at those and remember what the mid-west looks like. Shel drove all day - I don't know how he does it, but he doesn't mind. Maybe driving in a truck is more comfortable than driving a car, because it really isn't terrible. I keep myself busy with crocheting, checking the phone, or watching the view. Sometimes I check the atlas to assist with directions! It's the oldies on the radio that drives me crazy as they repeat the same songs all week long. Tonight we are sleeping with the trucks at a noisy rest stop in Ohio. The noise is all the trucks' generators running, but it will be like white noise. On to Pennsylvania tomorrow and Fallingwater, another Frank Lloyd Wright home. |
