Sheldon and Geni's 2024 Rhine-MoselTrip
Today is: September 17
We woke up in: Speyer, Ge

Speyer is pronounced shpyer.

After the initial walk through the city, I walked over to the Teknik Museum. They had a bunch of cars, fire trucks, trains, airplanes, etc. Was a pleasant afternoon.

Geni: Walked around the town. Tim talked about how they provide housing for low income and upper income people together in hopes the incentive to do better will move people to do better. Their "welfare system" insists, after a period of time, that people find or take jobs. In the afternoon I went to a home hosted village with a few others. We went to the home of a lovely woman, whose husband had just been hospitalized so instead of cancelling, she asked her long time friend to join her. She made dessert for us and we talked about her family. Incidentally her mother worked for a famous economist in the 40's. It was a really nice time.
