Geni: We took a bus to Ghent on our way to Bruges. Ghent is known as the "Jewel of Flanders." The Treaty of Ghent was signed here in 1814 to end War of 1812. In the St. Bavo's Cathedral is the famous painting Adoration of the Mystic Lamb, which we got to see. It was originally stolen by the Nazis and was recovered by the Americans (The movie, The Monument Men, depicts the story). Many of the buildings in this town date from medieval times.
