Sheldon and Geni's 2010 Camping Trip
Today is: October 11
We are in: Grand Canyon - Mather campground

We got up this morning and hightailed it back to Sedona by 8 o'clock to start our day. We found a parking place for our camper which was good because there were only two spots. We went on a Pink Jeep tour (Diamond Gulch) which brought us to a few canyons with great views of the mountains. The tour guide also provided alot of interesting information. We were on the tour with two other couples (military) who used to be stationed in the same location and remained friends. The tour was for 2 1/2 hours and we really enjoyed it. Below are some of the many photos we took.

After lunch, I wanted to find a vortex (places of energy/magnetic field) that Sedona is noted for. Shel dropped me off because there was no room to park the camper. First, they do not have signs that say -- vortex this way! Secondly, I walked up this steep path to the top of a mountain and by the time I got to the top, my heart was pounding. A couple of people seemed to be sitting in a meditative manner. As far as I could see, I couldn't tell if I was inspired by the energy or just calming my rapid heartbeat. After I made my way down to the bottom, Shel picked me up and we went to another spot. That, also, did not have any mention of a vortex and was a long hike. I think they don't want to advertise the vortex aspect and I also think you need to find a spiritual person to act as a guide.

It's probably not a good idea to try to do too many things in one (hot) day, so I gave up my spiritual journey and we headed out to the grand canyon which was around 3 hours away. We didn't get there until after 6, but we are here and settled in.

Happy first anniversary, Julie and Skip -- love you
