Sheldon and Geni's 2010 Camping Trip
Today is: October 16
We are in: Hyde Memorial State Park, Santa Fe, NM

We got up this morning, got a little late start, but left Colorado and got to Santa Fe by mid-afternoon. The view on the way down made us homesick for MA because the foliage was really pretty. Not as colorful as New England, but it did remind us of home! We also noticed that nobody lives in the land bordering both Colorado and New Mexico. We saw about 3 small towns on the way to Santa Fe Any, but mostly, it was just land and more land. . . . some cattle.

The campground we are staying at is about 9 miles from Santa Fe and it was a long winding road uphill. After we got settled, Shel wanted to drive even farther up the mountain to see, of all things, foliage!! We also saw a panoramic view of Santa Fe, but the sun was shining over it, so it wasn't real clear.

Late afternoon, we walked around Santa Fe and I even got Shel to walk into some shops with me. The stores were all quaint southwestern adobe style and it was nice place to walk around. Not alot of cars and people and noise. We had dinner at a Mexican Restaurant, The Guatalupe Cafe, near the state capital complex. We both enjoyed our meals.

Just foliage pics today. No internet service here, so communication will be delayed unless we move to another campsite.
