We got up this morning and went to the Petroglyph Monument park and walked up some short trails to see the symbols which were chiseled into the rocks by the early pueblo people as well as later by some spanish settlers. It is not known what the symbols mean as each group of people have their own interpretation and even they do not know the significance. It is unknown if it was just a place where "artists" used or whether it is something more spiritual. There was another sign saying do not disturb the rattlesnakes and that certainly rattled me. There were things moving around, but we only saw rabbits and a roadrunner type bird.

We packed up the camper beforethe noon checkout time and headed toward TX. The land was pretty flat and open and we could see to the horizons. When we got to Amarillo, Walmart, it looked like a campground. There are at least 10 other campers here. We did our shopping at Walmarts, ate dinner and are finishing up the evening. It is central time now, so we went from 2 hours difference (mountain time - New Mexico) to 1 hour difference (central time) from MA. Whatever time it is, I'm tired!!

We are just driving through the northern part of Texas, so should be moving quickly through it tomorrow.
