Today we just travelled all day. We got going late (8::30) and drove all day. We stopped at the world's largest gift shop, because how can you go by that!! However, it was not open until 10, so we had to keep moving. We are definitely coming back into civiliation, however, except for some major cities, like St. Louis and Springfield, MO, and Terra Haute and Indianapolis, IN, there still are not alot of bustling cities in between. Still lots of free range cattle, horses and farm land and views to the horizons. But, there is also lots of trees and limited views, making us feel like we are getting closer to home. Saw a sign for Larry Bird's restaurant in terra haute but since Shel isn't a sports guy, he wasn't impressed! The sign looked worn and didn't give much info, and I didn't know if it even still exits, so we just kept driving. We are staying at a Flying J for the first time, since we didn't find a superstore Walmart close by the highway. It is really a truck stop and little us are parked here with about 75 to 100 trucks! It is just unbelievable that there are so many trucks here, stopping here on their way to wherever they go. It will be interesting to see how many are here when we wake up tomorrow. I wonder if we will hear them leave through the night -- that won't be good! They have their motors on, but it is really like a white noise, so I don't think we will be bothered by that. Last night we were at a Walmart Superstore and there were quite a few trucks and about a dozen camper/RV's. It's really fine when you are just passing through for the night. Shel drove over 500 miles today and we listened to 50's, 60's and 70's radio stations. When you start hearing repeats of the 50's songs, you know you are listening to too much radio!!
