| We are in: | Staying in Estes Park Colorado |

Shel's version: Well, last night we decided to stay in a truck stop in Crook, Co. To say it was windy was an understatement. I put the stabilizer jacks down and the camper was still rocking in the breeze. After getting about two hours sleep we decided to move on - did about 80 miles and wound up at a Walmarts in Fort Morgan, Co. Got great sleep for the rest of the night. BTW route I-76 out of Nebraska to Greely Co. is a desert. Breakfast in some hole-in-the-wall diner and off to Estes Park. Beautiful drive from Loveland up through the passes to Estes Park. Just gorgeous up here. Got to Estes Park - Had to fix the jack that was falling off, had to fix the tongue jack that wouldn't work and then found out that my breakaway cable was missing and has to be replaced. Later we went for a four mile walk around the lake. tired us right out! Geni's version: The lovely breeze that we felt last night turned into a wind tunnel. There were things banging and I knew I wouldn't fall asleep unless I used earplugs, which I brought with me. When I awoke at midnight, Shel was up and ready to leave. We drove for about 1 1/2 hours through a dark, desolate highway that had signs saying - state penitentary - do not pick up hitchhikers - until we reached our place of comfort - Walmart's parking lot. We slept well until morning! We drove until we reached civilization and majestic scenery (malls and mountains). When we got to this area we took a long walk, did laundry, met a lovely couple from Vancouver who are passing through, and now we are beat!! Tomorrow we will explore!
