Sheldon and Geni's 2010 Camping Trip
Today is: September 19
We are in: We traveld from Riverton Wy to Grand Teton Natl Park

Geni: My guess is that there are more cattle than people in Wyoming. I think we only saw two towns this morning, and one of them had a population of 44 people!! In the morning, we went for at least 45 minutes seeing nothing but occasional cattle and horsse grazing. Every so often we saw a lone ranch in the middle of acres of land. The nice thing is that there still are cattle and horses roaming (and must be living) out in the freedom of the range. The roads leading to the park were spectacular -- again, so many different landscapes around every corner.

Shel: Grand Teton was more interesting than the roads we were on yesterday (but then again watching grass grow would be more interesting then yesterday) Hit some construction and gravel roads along the way. Today the views were much better and maybe Wyoming isn't such a desolate place after all. Arrived in the park at about 11, set up our trailer and then headed off to the visitors center.

At the visitors center we found that today is the last day for the crusie / tour of the lake, so promptly went over and signed up. Checked out the ndian arts museum and then went off on our cruise. The history, info, and picture opportunities were great on the tour. Then we took a nice mile plus walk around the campground and returned to the camper. Found out that our neighbors are from Weymouth.

Hope to get an album together tonight for our pictures in Estes Park.

Some horses in the fields

Some of the many many rock formations.

This house was so nicely nestled in front of the rocks

We were in open range country and a couple of head of cattle decied to cross the road right in front of us

This was out first glimpse of the Teton Range

Our campsite. We were in the area where generators were allowed, since we have no hookups. We bring the neighborhood down with our modest camper

View from the marina where we boarded the tour boat.

The mountain on the left is the Grand Teton

Along our walk after leaving the tour - rocks instead of sand along the lake

Relaxing after a hard day of vacation!
