Sheldon and Geni's 2014 Camping Trip
Today is: September 2
We woke up in: Glendive, MT We're going to sleep in: Glacier National Park, MT

Shel: Drove 517 miles - mostly two lane with lots of hills. At the Berkshires in MA, the truck had no problem pulling the trailer over 60 mph in 4th gear, but out here it is down in 3rd gear doing about 45 mph on these hills.

Geni: We both slept well last night. Train did drive on by, but it was just a midnight run that we heard. The drive to Glacier Park was boring and bloody long, especially last three hours. We drove down and then up roads as far as the eye could see only to reach the top and find another and then another of the same road.. .like groundhog day. So much unpopulated land, some with sporadic farms, some with only cattle, some with no cattle, no electricity, just land. Except for the beauty of seeing the sky meet the horizon, it got to be a little much. And, when we finally reached the park, it took another hour of windy roads to get to the west side where the campground is. I was really thankful that we found a site before dark and got settled in. Shel did an amazing job of driving for so long and having me as a passanger. Yay, we are finally here.

View from my camper - not so impressive, but did get hook-ups for comfortable living

No electrical wires, no houses, just road, often you could see 2-3 miles of road ahead of you

Somehow these black-eyed susans lined roadways for miles

Lots of miles of just flat land, but here there were mountains and flat land and houses

Our wonderful truck that competently took us up and over so many hills

I don't think we need to see this, but here it is
